A new retrospective is available of the activities of George Soros’s OSF.

There is not space here for reflection and analysis. Such an examination would be welcome by supporters and detractors. Professionally I have worked with both.

What all agree upon, or should in my view, is that the initiatives have demonstrated creativity, insight, determination, and results. To be sure, they flow from a defined world view that not all share.

In the formation and support of opposition parties, my interest, OSF has exerted an influence comparable to major democracy agencies such as NDI, IRI, the Westminster Foundation, and the German Stiftungs.

Controversies do not diminish the contribution to democratic practice.
