Statement on Nepal
When the people’s voice is silenced, peace is put at risk.
Opposition International mourns the loss of life in Nepal. This violence could have been avoided if the opposition’s role as a safeguard against corruption and a channel for grievances had been respected. Silencing dissent does not bring stability—it fuels unrest.
Respect the opposition, respect the people—only then can Nepal know peace.
