Welcome to the registration for our short Foundations course ‘Democracy in the Digital Age: The Role of Social Media’ pilot group!
This course is designed to empower CSO professionals, journalists, researchers and others interested in analysing the impact of social media on democracy.
The course offers a practical introduction to the foundations of social media and its intersection with democracy.
This four-hour online course explores key issues, including the impact of social media on democracy, online threats, and the challenges posed by emerging technologies such as AI and Generative AI. Finally, we explore national and supranational entities in regulating online spaces, as well as the responsibilities of platforms and civil society. The session format includes a combination of theoretical concepts with real case study discussions and activities, ensuring interactive and applied learning.
We are currently forming a pilot group and would like to invite you to participate in this initial phase on donation basis (https://democracy-reporting.org/en/office/global/page/about-us#id-193).
