Opposition International condolences to family of former PM Begum Khaleda Zia

Opposition International extends its sincere condolences to the family of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at this time of loss.

Begum Khaleda Zia’s life was marked by long years of public service and by profound personal and political challenges, endured in Bangladesh’s struggles to solidify the promise of democracy.

Her resilience in the face of illness, imprisonment, and political turmoil will be understood by many, who shared themselves in the post-Liberation challenges to democracy. 

She always hoped for a more just and representative future for the country.

Opposition International joins her loved ones, friends, and supporters in mourning her passing, and pays quiet respect to the sacrifices her family has borne over many years.

May they find comfort in the memories of her courage, her faith, and her dedication to the people of Bangladesh.
